== Description ==

An '''open fireplace''' is a decorative [[light sources|light source]] that provides light and warmth to nearby players.

== Creation ==

* Requires 35 [[masonry]] to create.

== Usage ==

* Light with [[steel and flint]] while carrying [[kindling]] in the inventory.
* When on [[deed]], the fireplace will snuff during the day and relight at night. This occurs automatically after being lit once.
* In underground dwellings, fireplaces remain lit around the clock.
* The open fireplace is not a [[container]] or cooker, but does provide light.
* Items can be placed on top of the open fireplace.
* The open fireplace can be quickly snuffed by placing a [[snowball]] on it, which will melt and extinguish the fire.
* No fuel is required other than the initial kindling.
* Combustible items can be burned in a fireplace as a means of disposal and will temporarily increase the light provided.
