== Description ==

A '''well''' is a stone [[container]] that holds up to 125 kg of liquid. When placed above an underground water source found with [[Water divining|divining]], it will automatically refill itself with [[water]].

== Creation ==

* The [[quality]] of the [[stone brick]] affects the success chance when creating.
* The quality of the [[clay]] affects the initial quality of the well.
* No matter the size of the first clay, as long as it is 2 kg or higher, the entire clay lump will be used. Adding additional clay subtracts 2 kg from a lump.
* Failure when creating damages both the [[stone brick]] and the [[clay]].
* The rendered well requires 1 additional [[clay]].

== Usage ==

* Once built, it usually takes around 15 minutes for the well to fill.
* Water is typically refilled within minutes of depletion.
* [[Courier]] can be cast on wells to make them into a [[Wishing well]].
* Wells also function on upper [[multi story|stories]] or [[cave|underground]] tiles, located above or below ground level.

== Notes ==
* Can be loaded onto a [[large cart]] if empty, but cannot be held in inventory.
* Wells cannot be dyed. They can, however, be color-runed.
* Some items can be placed on top of the well as decoration. Since the well is already a container, any items placed on it will be dropped on the ground when it is loaded. A message in the event log will notify the player of this.
